1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the KeroTools website and tools (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if you are able to form a legally binding contract in your jurisdiction and are not barred from doing so under any applicable laws. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. Description of Service
KeroTools provides free, browser-based image and PDF tools, including compression, format conversion, and document editing. Most tools run locally on your device, so your files are never uploaded. A small number of PDF tools (such as PDF to Word and Word to PDF) process on our server: the file is uploaded over HTTPS, converted, returned, and deleted immediately after processing. Reasonable file-size and rate limits may apply to keep the Service fast and available for everyone.
4. License to Use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes. You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without our prior written permission.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. You must not: use the Service for any illegal, infringing, harmful, or fraudulent purpose; upload or process content that you do not have the right to use; attempt to overload, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its servers; use automated systems or bots to abuse the Service; or interfere with other users’ use of the Service. We reserve the right to restrict or block access to anyone who violates these rules.
6. Your Files and Content
You retain all rights to the files and content you process using the Service. We do not claim ownership of your files. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to process any file you use with our tools, and that doing so does not violate any law or the rights of any third party. Because most processing happens on your device, we never see the vast majority of files handled through the Service.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service itself — including its design, layout, code, text, graphics, logos, and the "KeroTools" name — is owned by KeroTools and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license granted above, nothing in these Terms transfers any of these rights to you. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our permission.
8. Third-Party Services and Advertising
The Service is supported by advertising and may include content, links, or services provided by third parties, including Google AdSense. Your use of any third-party service is subject to that party’s own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party services, and the display of an advertisement does not imply our endorsement of it.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that conversion results will meet your specific requirements. You use the Service at your own risk, and you are responsible for keeping backups of any important files.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KeroTools and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or files, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service. In any case, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us to use it, which for a free service is zero.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KeroTools and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
12. Service Availability and Changes
We strive to keep the Service available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or continuous access. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service — including individual tools — at any time and without prior notice, for example for maintenance, improvements, or legal reasons.
13. Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will continue to apply.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the Service.
